DESCRIPTION:
If I had to grab a few dozen cds to take with me on a month-long tour across the country, ones that would keep me company when I was driving would be Jamie Hartford's "Part Of Your History" would be among them. It's held up well over the years since its release. I play it on my radio show ("Better Days") from time to time. The songs are all written by Jamie's father, John Hartford (except for the album's title track, written by Jamie), and performed with simplicity, grace and honesty. There are times, while listening, that the line between Jamie's voice and his father's is blurred. The album is like an old ball glove had some oil rubbed into it. Beautiful music, meaningful and playful songs. It just doesn't get any better. DL
