Exit 36 is a jazz quartet featuring drummer/composer Chris Covais, guitarist/composer James Ludwig, pianist Vincent Loccisano, and bassist Dominic Drwal. The group has one goal; to play original music as well as obscure material with musical integrity and creativity.

Chris Covais began playing drums at age 3. Main influences on his own instrument are Nick Ceroli, Joe Chambers, Roy Haynes, Jack Dejohnette and Bill Stewart. Covais is also a composer and writes a lot for the group. He formed the band in 2008. Born in Kentucky,

James Ludwig grew up on Long Island and was a student of jazz guitarist Billy Bauer before attending Berklee College of Music. James is also a talented composer who's compositions are well represented in the group's repertoire.

Pianist Vincent Loccisano attended Buffalo University as well as NYU, where he studied with pianist Kenny Werner. Loccisano's brilliant technical command of his instrument brings a tremendous amount of energy to the group.

Dominic Drwal began playing the bass at age 10 and displayed amazing technical facility on his instrument very soon after. His influences are Scott Lafaro, Eddie Gomez, John Pattitucci, and Michael Moore. He currently attends the Eastman School of Music.
