Born and bread in East London, I started singing from a very young age, though I am sure at the time my mum would have disagreed (hehehe) it may have been loud and quite a lot off-key but I was determined. I was heavily influenced by artists such as as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Melba Moore ("Love come down.ooh you make my love come down"), Lionel Richie ("All Night Long.), Kool and the Gang ("Ooh lalalala") Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan.alright and New Kids on the Block - they were BIG don't try and deny it!!

I started writing and recording when I was in my teens and at school formed vocal band "The Loving Touch." I have vivid recollections of us singing in the toilets (Classy ehh!!) and I remember we finally got the chance to go out and perform. It was at some fashion show and we got dressed up in our leggins and bodysuits (sista's i know u know what i am talking about!!) and sang the classic "Lean on me", I think that this is where i got a real taste for performing. After leaving school, I was part of Havana with my good friend Vanessa, (Hannah and Vanessa.Havana clever innit!!). Amongst other things, it brought us to the Soul II Soul recording studios in Camden and Havana's vocals featured on London born singer/songwriter Celitia's 1998 Album.

After a few years I began working with Khalid (best singer in the world and my beautiful cousin). We started in about 2000 and for three years we were signed to Jolt records for a development deal, we performed in venues across London for the duration and he really helped me develop in songwriting, on stage for us it was just like a natural partnership. Through Jolt I was introduced to Andy "Touch" Fingers of Poetiquette (formerly known as Rare Unit) soulful house DJ, producer and WICKED pianist. Completely by fluke he asked me to stand in for their resident singer for a gig in Revolutions in Claphamand they have not been able to get rid of me since.they also have a truly horrid picture of me on their page (see below)please petition for it to get taken off (hehehe). We had the opportunity to travel out to Poland in 05 for a LIVE Soulful House tour and worked with Poland's top trumpeteer Antoni "Zuit" Gralak. (www.myspace.com/poetiquettelive)

In addition to all this I have had the opportunity to work and perform alongside a range of artists and producers namely writing with Videoface on "Half is mine" dubbed The Divorcees Anthem which has already been championed by dance music royalty Sir Norman Jay(www.myspace.com/videofacemusic) and writing the theme tune to Cocobutta @Cargo where unsigned artists have the opportunity to perform on a live set(www.cocobutta.com/www.myspace.com/cocobutta1)

Since deciding to go solo in 2003 I have since been working hard at developing my songwriting and stage performing skills. I am striving to be a better musician, songwriter and performer.so look out for new band AMITY.brimming with finely tuned talented musicians tyring to do something different

Gonna stop jabbering on now but just wanna say thanks for taking the time to look at my page and find out a little more about me.got nothin but love 4 ya.
