Hands On Heads were a dysfunctional pop group from London between the years 2005-2009, during which they played approx 80 shows and wrote exactly 42 songs. We had a wonderful time playing songs for you but an even better one just being friends together.
There's a lot of songs we never released in a variety of mind-blowing and badly recorded states which we will soon share with you when we upload ALL our music for free. Our last song suitably entitled Sad Face became one of our favourite songs in our final sets and so we've uploaded a version here too. We had a debut album on a 10" record split with our kindred spirits The Sticks, which SOLD OUT and who eMUSIC made essential, you can download our MP3's at here
and read the accompanying interview here
Our most second and also final album entitled TOUGH FUN is also available for you to buy at Upset The Rhythm who kindly released it >

"We'll miss you very much Chukka!" CHRIS, LUKE and CLAIRE x
"After a string of uber-cool releases including No Age, Barr and Death Sentence: Panda! the 'Upset The Rhythm' crew throw-out another alternative gem featuring london-based HANDS ON HEADS and brighton duo, THE STICKS. The HANDS ON HEADS side is all high-speed spazzy indie, like the yummy fur playing tig in a haunted house, whilst THE STICKS sounds like the Coachwhips arm-wrestling the Country Teasers in a cave. Limited to 500 copies on red and green dipped 10" vinyl with a hand screen heavy-card
sleeve. Do not miss this!" ROUGH TRADE
"HANDS ON HEADS seem to be interested in performing songs with a strong narrative arc, but the speed and dizziness with which they attack everything gives me a sort of motion sickness" WIRE MAGAZINE
"HANDS ON HEADS erase all that dares that no wave is crashing, by successfully rewiring your brain to receive as pop, shards of short impenetrable noise" PLAN B
"Like, if you multiplied the frets on a guitar by the beats in a bar by every e-number in a gingerbread towerblock. Featuring, um (maybe) an old school seaside/cinema organ, hyperspeed dynamics and a litter of puppies yelping from the depths of a spin cycle (it's OK! They like it!) well until they drown obvs." PLAN B
"I once went to see Martin Creed's band play in the basement of some gallery. He did a song where he just counted from one to ten. Then from ten back down to one. I reckon Martin would like Hands On Heads" VICE MAGAZINE
"The longest Hands on Heads track here is a whopping two and a half minutes, yet even within these fragmentary vignettes are contained both excellent pop songs and definite and defined structure and ideas, conveyed through chattering instruments and manic organ. Hands on Heads are yet another band who'd have a way bigger profile in times more amenable to experimentation than these." PLAYLOUDER
There's also a Playlouder live review here and a Drowned in Sound review here.
