Few artists today have a voice that resonates, not only strong enough to captivate you, but takes you on a journey to an era when powerful, charismatic female vocalists owned the stages.
Halina Larsson's edgy yet soulful songs fit somewhere between jazz and folk music and draw influences from the likes of Janis Joplin, Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu, Feist and Elliot Smith.
Her debut in the Swedish music scene came 2005 with the release of "More More More More" with punkrock group Chick habit on Silence records.
After moving to the US and working as a backing vocalist touring the world with rock band Coheed and Cambria she now lives in Brooklyn writing and performing her own music. In the spring of 2009 Halina recorded and produced her EP "Puget Sounds" in her apartment in Stockholm.
Soon to be released is her collaboration with Swedish house producer Alf Tumble (heyahifi) on Centric records (UK). Halina is also working with other producers on various electronic projects.
