Hades Records is an independent Hip-hop label, based in Bucharest, Romania. Our artist roster includesAxes, Butch, Criss Blaziny, Dagga, Dribbler, Funktastics, Keri, Ortega , Praetor ,Sangre, Dj Undoo, Veritasaga, Zeppelin.
Hades Records emerged at the end of 2000, based upon the idea that "underground" Hip-hop music represents an ideological revolution, a war fought not with fire arms, but rather with the soul and mind as weapons. Our goal was to get the voice of new artists heard and we did that without the benefits of the major labels. We wanted to be the first label that allows artists to be themselves, to create their music without conforming to the boundaries of the industrys commercial clichés. So, we started making our own records and mixtapes and sold them as bootleg-CDs over the internet or at live shows.
By the end of 2003, we realised it was time for a change. Based on the experience of the best sound, production, art, booking, artist development and promotion people in the underground industry, we started building a brand. In just three years, we organized and promoted more than 300 concerts all over Romania, not just for our artists, but also for many other underground MCs/groups not affiliated with our label. In 2005 we released our first official compilation,
"Hades Records preia controlul" ("Hades Records Is Taking Over"), followed by both heavy street and mainstream promotion. We also released some promo-EPs, mixtapes and singles, and started working on our artists new albums.
In 2006 we got deeper into promotion business, and organized two of the most successful Hip-hop events in Romania: Promoe from Looptroop in November and Afu-Ra in December.
Beside the shows that we've organised (Sugar Hill Gang, Freestyle of The Arsonists, Defari, R.A. The Rugged Man, Cesar Comanche, DJ Rafik, DJ Flip and DJ Illegal of Snowgoons), 2007 brought four releases: Ad Litteram - Pana la ultima suflare LP, Kazi Ploae - Gorgone, Veritasaga - Cu Alti Ochi (one of the most expected albums in Romania who had very good sales and a huge succes) and Hades Records Preia Controlul vol. 2 Mixtape.
In 2008, all the efforts were concentrated on the release of two new albums, KST - Soldati Necunoscuti and Dagga - Inima Tare.
The first official release for 2009 is the higly expected album of Keri, called "The Beat Bandit", which includes collabos with well known hip hop heads like Supastition, Cesar Comanche (Justus League) and DJ Waxwork (Snowgoons). Also, beside the artists of Hades Records (Butch, Veritasaga, Funktastiks, KST, Dagga, DJ Undoo, Axes, DJ Faibo X), the album will feature guest appearences from Rimaru, Nimeni Altu', Raku, Rashid, Kioru or Boogie.
