GROOVIN' BARCELONA

Groovin 'Barcelona nació en octubre del 2006, cuando un grupo de DJs con ideas afines se reunieron, cansados de que su música se limitara a los bares pequeños con insuficiente volumen, mientras que la política musical de todos los grandes clubes está firmemente atascada en el Atolladero de techno-minimal-House-comercial.

Se decidió promover una noche Groovin una vez al mes en distintos lugares de la ciudad, para demostrar que hay un público para una gama más amplia de estilos musicales, que han sido ignorados penosamente durante varios años. Hasta ahora la reacción ha sido muy positiva, y esperamos que en 2009 todo el movimiento Groovin ' quede como un referente musical alternativo de la escena Barcelonesa.



Groovin Barcelona started off in october of 2006 when a group

of like-minded DJs got together, tired of having their music confined

to tiny bars with inadequate sound systems, whilst the music policy

of all the bigger clubs was firmly stuck in the rut of minimal techno

and commercial rnb and house music.

They decided to promote a club night once a month at various venues

around the city to prove that there is an audience for a wider range

of musical styles, which have been criminally ignored for several years.

Thus far the reaction has been very positive, and hopefully in 2008

the whole Groovinmovement will find a permanent home and become

a regular fixture on the Barcelona scene.
