GREY

His vision is clear but he understands the sometimes drab circumstances that color life. Grey infuses his lyrics with a mix of highs and lows, love and conflict, understanding the gritty underside of reality. He shapes a rhythmic silhouette of life.

Grey, born in Humboldt Park Projects in Chicago, moved and grew up in Midwood, Brooklyn. Hip-hop culture grabbed him and soon his appreciation grew into insight. Rigorously shaping himself as a writer and emcee, Grey aimed to always be creative and versatile without losing consistency. Practice was heated lyrical battles and books of verse, filled with the mute hues and highlights in his life, which exhibit realism and sensitivity. Understanding that entertainment was his calling, he forged ahead performing at countless venues and hosting events & Launch Parties.

This Chinese and Puerto Rican emcee, who has been writing for the past 14 years is quickly becoming the industries best kept secret. Grey has made appearances on Hip-Hop Station Radio, HeadHunters - Fight Club DVD, RIX Magazine, IRT Magazine and Hoodz TV. He has appeared in the 50 Cent / Mobb Deep video Outta Control and was chosen to participate in the Napster Artist Registry Program. Reaching beyond being a music artist, he has started to make his stamp in the entertainment industry. Hosting various internet TV Shows such as the well received Heavy.com show “GAMESLAP”, The BET.com show “GAMES THAT PEOPLE PLAY”, The Joost.com channel “True Game Headz”, and most recently with King Magazine for “King TV”. Grey has also opened for an array of artists such as Camron and Dip-Set, Obie Trice, Black Rob, Cuban Link, Triple Seis, Young Gunz, Petey Pablo, Lumidee, Da Band, and The Clipse. Many have embraced Grey, as his last released mix tape The Best Of Grey Vol.3 (Hosted by DJ Virman from LA Power 106) has moved 14,000 Units, with all 3 of his mixtapes moving a total of 32,000 units.

Appealing to various audiences, he smoothly maneuvers from punch line filled free styling, to introspective waves of lyrics. Grey disarmingly demonstrates his ability to shape his voice and mood to different tempos and subject matters. Some of his inspiration can be accredited to artists such as Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane, Eminem, Nas, and Jay-Z. “A lot of artists are one-sided, life is not one-sided” says Grey. So he surveys the variegated landscape of entertainment and hip-hop, and sets his goal on target. Find out more about him at www.GreyMusic.com
