The seed of fire was born in the summer of 2003 when 4 friends got together to have fun, krank up the amps, and raise some hell! Originally hailing from Waltham,MA, Graveyard BBQ's self-proclaimed "DIRTCORE" sound is a style coined by Slinger/Vox/Songwriter/Visionary/Creator, "Brownbag Johnson". It's recipe is a unique high-voltage blend of "Old school Delta Country Blues, penetrated by Monstrous/Sleazy guitar riffs, Electrifying slide-guitar, Thunderous Bass and Drums, Powerful/ Gritty/ Sinister vocals, fronted by a rebel rock attitude that boasts SEX, BOOZE, n ROCKnROLL!!!" Of Graveyard BBQ's many traits, fun is the bottom line. They incorporate their strong roots into their own modern soul-laced style of an electrified rock carnival that grabs you by the balls and says "I said dance!" Their song's lyrical content is almost always laced with a devishly fun n' twisted sense of humor, but also contains more serious themes of real individual life experiences, substance, and conviction of payin their dues while singin' the blues which makes the story complete. They quickly rose to fame when they won the "Be a Guitar Hero" national contest to have their song "Cheat on the Church" (from their debut record release, "Greatest Hits Volume 1") featured in the legendary soundtrack of the PlayStation 2 video game, GUITAR HERO. In 2007, the band released their highly praised, ground breaking follow up… appropriately entitled, "Greatest Hits Volume II" which includes their signature songs, "The Clothes That Makes The Man", "Creamskull Boogie", "Ride the Stache", "By the Grace of the Grill", "Cheat on the Church", and the fan-inspired anthem, "BBQ NATION". All of which are featured on the popular video games, ROCKBAND 2 and ROCKBAND 3. They've played close to 1,000 shows since their inception, while selling out nearly every club in their local/regional area including 4 unforgettable performances at the annual Boston Freedom Rally "HEMPFEST" from 2006- 2009, headlining the event in 2008, and 2009, and have toured the United States relentlessly while building a die-hard cult following fan base they call, the "BBQ NATION". While on tour in 2009, they won the High Times Magazine "BEST NEW UNDERGROUND ARTIST" Doobie Award during the South by Southwest Music/Film Festival in Austin, TX. Ultimately, Graveyard BBQ offers something for EVERYONE of all age and walks of life, and induces it's true essence of substance, conviction, originality, and fun!, which are very much absent in today's music world. Graveyard BBQ has certainly made quite a name for itself, building its buzz from a rapidly growing worldwide die-hard cult following, and creating a sound to last for time and beyond… as fans will agree. At the end of the day, Graveyard BBQ proudly vows to carry on the torch of the legends who have paved the way before them, and to show the world that the true spirit of Rock N' Roll is ALIVE and WELL. WELCOME TO THE BBQ NATION! "IF YOU AINT WITH US, YER AGAINST US"
