Myrna Bell - Mambo Italiano (78rpm shellac record) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 04, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This record is interesting mainly because it's the first (and last) Hungarian recording featuring the famous Hungarian guitarist, Gábor Szabó, who by the way influenced Carlos Santana quite heavily. It was recorded in July of 1956.
My grandpa was about to throw his old shellac records out, as he didn't listen to them at least for the last thirty (or more years), but fortunately I managed to bring them home before he would trash his collection.
Also, it's a great way to try the 78rpm speed on my freshly acquired Audio Technica AT-LP120USB, which has been modded to have gold plated RCA outs, which are bypassing the entire audio electronics. The cartridge is an Audio Technica AT91 with a microgroove stylus, a proper one for 78rpm playback is on its way. The rest of the setup (Leema Elements Phono + M-Audio MobilePre mkII) is the same as before.
The sound has been partially restored, I applied some declicking and tried to get rid of the background noise as well.
