MV8-VGA GR8-VGA DO-IT-YOURSELF UPGRADE UPDATE! LCD VERSION - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 29, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
I sold the mv8k that i did the upgrade to. I did my pinout using an actual MV8-VGA card. If you have problems, please post. I dont have my original unit to reference. But I will help as much as possible.
Just remember this is a try at your own risk upgrade!
Refer to http://pinouts.ru/ if you get confused. I suggest everyone get the mouse to work first! You only need to have mouse connected to switch back and forth. The vga does not have power running to it. I suggest once you get wiring right, SOLDER ALL CONNECTIONS! Here is the pinout:

Red wire is CN 1

1 - 4 (m)
2 - 6 (m)
3 - 2 (m)
4 - 5 (m)
5 - 1(m)
6 - 3 (m) *
7 - gnd white wire
8 - 15 (vga)
9 -13 (vga)
10 - 14 (vga)
11 gnd grey wire
12 - 1 (vga red) white wire
13 gnd grey wire
14 - 2 (vga green) white wire
15 gnd grey wire
16 - 3 (vga blue) white wire

* = splice with vga #12

(m) = mouse

Wire # 6 is mon id, but splice this with VGA #12, and mouse # 3. Take gnds # 7,11,and 13 and connect together with VGA #5 gnd. (As long as you have two of the grey gnds together it will be fine). On the vga pinout 5-10 are all ground, the wire you may use might have two gnds within it. After it is identified, use the second gnd, usually vga #10, and connect with wire 15(grey gnd).

*If it dont work connect
6(mv), 3(m),12(vga), 10(vga),15(mv).
On my board pin (wire) #6 is connected thru a ground that has resistance in path. I ran into a problem when i did my upgrade, and it was ground related. If memory serves me correct, this fixed it. I know that with this upgrade, the mouse uses all six pins, which is different from standard ps/2. And it seems that it needs to be grounded.

Big shouts to NZCLINT, PHeMoX ,and everyone in the MVNATION, except for NNITIRED! I dont hide behind internet AVATARS. I guess when you post a response that will make an admnistrator look in the wrong, they kick you out! Thats why he deleted my reply, and copied part of it. I only ask that when you comment on something, have your facts straight. Obviously, you have a "short man's" complex or something. My comment totally outshined yours and made your response seem like it was all assumption. Anyone who want to know the truth follow the thread, and you will see.

No sweat, what you eat dont make me sh*t, wheres the love. As of day of post, 10/29/09, @ 534 cst, I still dont see any post of the pinout, no pressure, just facts. I guess NNITIRED stated that I did my hack only after NZCLINT posted it, and he also assumed that I was given info for the upgrade, not true. No sweat, He is a KEY-THUG! Ha... People look at all the time stamps on videos, and it will tell the tale.
MEN LIE, WOMEN LIE - NUMBERS DONT!

Anyways, this time is the LCD screen test, and i also used an usb mouse, with a ps/2 - to usb adapter. Works just fine. Check it out and comment, RATEORHATE!
