Stoked

While amongst the educators which shaped the foundation to a life long journey, four friends united and constructed what is known as STOKED. They have been harvesting their musical influences and transforming their talent into live performances with their high energy, melodic rock. STOKED, formed in february 2003 and began performing live in the summer of the same year where they made their first appearance at a local bar in Hamilton, Ontario. Since then, they have played many shows and clubs all across Ontario building a grassroots fan base. In the summer of 2005, the band appeared on TVO's Studio 2 which ultimately led them to perform their first televised event.



In the spring of 2006 the recorded an independent EP which engineer Carm Milioto, which was recorded, mixed and mastered at Studio 410 Sound productions in Stoney Creek, Ontario. It was released featuring 6 of their most requested songs by their fans. Cd release party was a success for the band not only in sales, but the networking of bands that came together to make the show such a hit with the people.



These guys have really stepped into their element. They create ideas with a clear vision of the bigger picture beginning with just an acoustic guitar and vocal melody. The ideas are presented to the group where they are implemented on a grandeur scale, creating the arrangements with uniqueness and style.



After their experience of the first recording, one year later the band was working on their first full length record with Saga's own Steve Negus. Most of the recording took place at the Jamhouse Music Studios with vocals being done at Blue Room Studios.



During the time of this album being recorded, lead singer Brian had entered into a contest that would change his musical life forever. After a long and anticipated summer, he was crowned the winner of the popular television show Canadian Idol of 2007. The band could not be more proud to not only have their best friend succeed but this experience brought lots of exposure for the band during the course of the summer.



As for the album, it is being put on hold for a release date. Plenty of musical ideas and songs are awaiting such release. The members of the band are continuing to write and play and remain close friends and family.
