In September of 2005, Bryce Ross had just begun his junior year at Westlake High School. In an attempt to maintain his grade-point-average and get an easy A, he had chosen to take Beginning Journalism as an elective. Of course, at the time he had no suspicion of the fact that his future success in music would be a result of this decision.

Meanwhile, Emma Dixie was going into her senior year. With only one chance left to get the credits she needed to graduate, her schedule was flooded. Coincidentally, she also had picked Journalism for one of her electives (probably for the same reason as Bryce).

Bryce and Emma hit it off right away. Coming from two completely different social groups, they found common ground in music. When Bryce discovered that Emma was a drummer, he suggested that they get together one weekend --- he'd bring his trusty guitar and they'd jam.

And so began the legacy. The following Saturday, Bryce made the drive over to Emma's house --- but not alone. He brought his friend Ryan Reynolds (another senior from WHS). Ryan had offered to play bass during the jam session, but after a few hours of practice, it was decided that he was more suited as a second guitarist, allowing for an array of catchy riffs from Bryce and roaring chords from Ryan. Nobody ever looked back, and the search for a bassist began.

December passed by, and the powerpop trio played their first show in the backyard of the band's soon-to-be roadie, Nick Blackwell. It was that night that they (and the audience) realized that they wouldn't be a garage band for long. And it was also the night that Good$ell found their fourth cornerstone by means of the incredible talents of David "D-Mac" Macmillan, who happened to be the bassist for one of the other bands. After the first rehearsal, it was apparent that the band was now complete.

From there they continued practicing, writing all their own material, and waiting hopefully for the chance to prove themselves. After several school appearances and a handful of backyard shows, Good$ell finally gained some momentum and started gracing the stages of the all the local venues. Now, almost two years in, the band has a stunning portfolio of accomplishments, including a fan-base of over two thousand people and a four song EP album entitled "Easier Said Than Done", featuring the songs "Hello, My Name Is Danger" and "Good Action Movies Never Get Filmed In A Town Like This".

Needless to say, the progress that Good$ell has made is a force to be reckoned with. They are now in the process of recording their brand new EP album "A Soundtrack For Silence", which is set for release May 31st. Be sure to make an appearance at the release party! (Rock City Studios, May 31st @ 7 P.M. --- $10 at the door).
