national forest's real name is daniel cowley. he comes from reading, but currently resides in manchester. all his early music was made in his spare time using a pc, a crappy guitar, a crappier microphone, some old keyboards and his dad's record player. now he has his own record player, but has had his microphone stolen. after releasing his first record, the 'soda lake' ep, follow-up 12" 'reflex the tempo', a string of 7"s and his eponymous debut the bar was raised somewhat, resulting in second album 'one million'.
