Kings Of Fools - Perfect kind of girl



Ever since the bands first steps in the fall of 2004, the Kings Of Fools’ motto has been to please their audience with a simple, yet balanced and beautiful mix of acoustic easy to approach feel-good rock ‘n’ roll and strong emotions. This combination has had K.O.F. gain fans from both genders and all age groups, proving the success of their philosophy… Shy girls jump up and dance, while big men open up and cry!



Kings Of Fools is a band based on friendship, as the four guys, Apassi, Sleepy, Bandit and Blendman, have all been friends for over 15 years. After playing in bands for all their lives, both together and separately, the guys were finally able to combine their talents in just the right way! Suddenly song writing, harmonies and the right amount of attitude had welded together to form a unique sound… a sound they would call “glam folk”.



This all has it’s origins in one acoustic cover gig that Sleepy and Apassi did in 2004. The set list was old favourites of the guys, with songs from bands like Backyard Babies, Hanoi Rocks, The Dogs D’Amour and even Iron Maiden. One highlight of the gig was the Social Distortion song “King Of Fools”, from which the duo took the name that would stick like glue. After joining forces with Bandit, the guys started playing songs that Apassi had written during his last few years without a real band. After seeing the huge effect these songs had on live audiences they knew there was no turning back. Kings Of Fools had arrived!



The bands first concern was to get their music out to their new fans and therefore decided to go in a studio to record some of their songs. The five song EP, “In Bed With…”, definitely struck a nerve among people and interest for the band kept growing. But the biggest effect on the band came from within the studio. Old friend, multi instrumentalist Yello Blendman, who recorded the EP and helped out with keyboards, was so impressed with what he heard that he joined the group and Kings Of Fools was complete!



In the months to come K.O.F. showed that they are a strong live band that always leaves the crowd a smile on the face and a tear in the eye. With even more enthusiasm the band started to try out new songs on live audiences. The response was so positive, that in 2006 Kings Of Fools recorded 11 songs for the album “Glamfolk”, and are currently trying to find the right record company to release this masterpiece.



In February 2007 Kings Of Fools made a deal with the big promotion agency Welldone, which hopefully will give even more people the oppotunity to see and hear them.



K.O.F. is also known for their annual Christmas singles that so far have included the season related songs “Lonely X-mas”, by Backyard Babies and “Dead By X-mas”, by Hanoi Rocks plus a few other favourites of the band… of course performed in the wonderful Kings Of Fools way!
