Gizla; 'I Simply Do Me'
A London-based singer/songwriter, Daniel 'Gizla' Gordon is in a musical league of his own.
Born in Sheffield, Gizla grew up surrounded by musical inspiration, listening to his parents' Reggae, Revival and Soul music.
At the tender age of 12, Gizla began DJing and it was soon after this that his talent for performing was realised. His mother bought him an Atari ST with Cubase software and it was there he began his journey of producing and writing his own material.
At 16, Gizla formed the band 50/50 with his brother and two school friends and they were signed to BMG Logic Records and achieved numerous top forty hits.
In 2002 Gizla broke away from the band and formed Nutty NRG in which he toured and supported headline acts such as T-Pain, Joe and Ghostface Killah. Nutty NRG also beat the likes of JLS to win Project Talent in 2007.
Now in 2010 Gizla has become a solo artist in his own right. A blend of Hip hop, Rock and Reggae, Gizla's diversity is blatant; pushing the boundaries as he crosses borders of one musical genre to another.
With single releases on the horizon and an album dropping in 2012, Gizla is definitely one to look out for.
