bio by aaron stout:

In a town that rarely takes a deep breath to figure out what is really happening with music, often times suffocating on it's own recycled sonic garbage, there lived a young man who figured a way to surpass the breathless, near-lifeless population of singer-songwriter types and make vibrant, heartfelt melodies come to life. That man's name is Gill, or the Gill, James Furness. As one who has seen Gill perform, I must attest that he is blessed with the kind of Charisma most people dream about. But when most people dream, they dream about what the ideal job, being rich or a brand new snow blower. When Gill dreams, it is more like a collection of pixels, actual images that in Gill's mind have already happened; past, present and future. There is only a portrait composed of a time capsule or better yet a time-lapsed sequence of a 16mm camera. The good times, bad times, and times that seem to exist on a plane inhabiting the likes of J.D. Salinger or the Poet Rainer Maria Relke. Though often times, in the solemn songwriter category, one can be easily turned off by the pretension of sadness, and the tired stanzas of the author. What makes James really stand above these types of songwriters is his ability to find an honest medium of sorrow and hope in his lyrics, crafting them with the perfect marriage of melody. which you'll be hearing a lot more of in the days to come. -aaron stout

gill's autobiography:

in a cold dark region of the netherlands an old woman on her last leg of life left a baby on the doorstep of a rich family. they opened the door to find an attractive and very unhealthy baby boy. fearful of being looked at as baby stealers they decided not to keep the boy. and instead they placed him on the doorstep of a poorer but far more charitable family. they named this boy Gill and raised him to be a professional dancer. hoping the boys incredibly nimble feet would someday make them enough money to relocate the family of 6 to the united states. on a cold tuesday there dreams were accomplished as Gill won the eastern netherland dance-off invitational, by doing a very emotional and passionate rendition of Bach's 6th symphony. the interpretive dance fused dancing style that had not been combined before. such as breakdancing, two-stepping, line dancing, and belly dancing needless to say the judges wept as they cast there scores 10's across the table making Gill the first ever to receieve a perfect score. and thus securing the 500.000 dollar grand prize. the whole family moved to america where Gill's dancing did not go over well. some say the problem was in his dancing outfit or lack there of. but Gill blames it on the bear accident. desperate for money Gill decided to form a family band with his 3 siblings and tour the US. performing under the name Gill he came up with a pseudo identity in which he assumed the name James Furness. he did this because he fears his life. this fear was a disturbing byproduct of his nationally acclaimed success recent reviews in rolling stone and the new yourk times solidify him as a poster child for a generation of struggling musicians. this is Gill this is his story. this is his dreama
