Georgina Hassan nació el 9 de mayo de 1977 en Buenos Aires.
En 1994 se recibió de Maestra Nacional de Música en la Escuela “Juan Pedro Esnaola”, y en 1999 egresó de la Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda con el título de instrumentista con especialización en guitarra folklórica.
En el año 2002 realizó su primer gira por Europa, con conciertos en Francia, España y Portugal.
En agosto del 2004 grabó su primer disco solista, “Primera Luna”, con arreglos y dirección musical de Pablo Fraguela, y producción artística de Ariel Hassan.
Compartió escenarios con Ernesto Acher, Carlos “Negro” Aguirre, Lisandro Aristimuño, Rubén Goldín, Liliana Herrero, Inti-Illimani, Samanta Navarro, Opus Cuatro, Ana Prada y Chango Spasiuk, entre otros artistas.
Ha realizado giras por el interior de Argentina, como así también por Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, España, Francia y Portugal.
A comienzos de 2009 fue invitada por el músico vasco Kepa Junkera, ganador del Grammy Latino, a participar de la grabación de su último CD, “Kalea”, junto a destacados artistas de Latinoamérica como Pablo Milanés, Pedro Aznar, Lila Downs, Ivan Lins, entre otros.
En abril de este año realizó su quinta gira europea presentándose en las ciudades de Granada (semifinalista en el concurso “Encuentro de cantautores Abril para vivir 2009”), Zaragoza y Pamplona, en España; y en Porto, Braga y Maia, en Portugal.
En septiembre de 2009 lanzó su segundo disco, “Como respirar”, integrado principalmente por canciones propias, con dirección musical de Diego Penelas y producción artística de Georgina Hassan y Gustavo Segal.
Participaron en este disco Diego Penelas, Fernando Mántaras y Rodrigo Quirós como grupo estable; y Emiliano Álvarez, Raly Barrionuevo, Horacio Cacorilis, Daniel Cantillana, Juampi Francisconi, Facundo Guevara, Ariel Hassan, Heleen de Jong, Kepa Junkera, Erik Manouz, Marcelo Moguilevsky, Osiris Rodriguez y Lito Vitale, como músicos invitados.
En octubre de 2009 fue nominada para los premios Atahualpa en el rubro “Nueva hornada, mejor solista vocal femenina”.
El año 2010 comenzó con una gira por la Provincia de Córdoba, Argentina. Actualmente prepara dos giras, en abril y mayo-junio, por Alemania, Bélgica, España y Portugal.

BIOGRAPHY
Georgina Hassan was born in Buenos Aires on May 9th 1977.
In 1994 she got a degree as a national music teacher at “Juan Pedro Esnaola” school, and in 1999 she also got a degree as an instrumentalist specialized in folkloric guitar at Avellaneda Popular Music School.
In 2002 she started touring Europe for the first time, playing concerts in France, Spain and Portugal.
In August 2004 she recorded her first solo album, “Primera luna” (“First moon”), with musical direction and musical arrangements by Pablo Fraguela, and artistic production by Ariel Hassan.
She has shared the stage with Ernesto Acher, Carlos “Negro” Aguirre, Lisandro Aristimuño, Ruben Goldin, Liliana Herrero, Inti-Illimani, Samanta Navarro, Opus Cuatro, Ana Prada y Chango Spasiuk, among other artists.
She has toured Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Spain, France and Portugal in several occasions.
At the beginning of 2009, Georgina was invited by Basque musician Kepa Junkera, winner of Latin Grammy award, to participate on the recording of his latest album, “Kalea”, among other outstanding Latin American artists such as Pablo Milanes, Pedro Aznar, Lila Downs and Ivan Lins.
In April 2009, she toured Europe for the fifth time, performing in Granada (reached the semifinal at the “Encuentro de cantautores Abril para vivir 2009” contest), Zaragoza and Pamplona, in Spain; and in Porto, Braga and Maia, in Portugal.
In September 2009 her second album, “Como respirar” (“Like breathing”) was released, mainly containing new songs written by her, with musical direction by Diego Penelas and artistic production by Georgina Hassan and Gustavo Segal.
“Como respirar” features Diego Penelas, Fernando Mantaras y Rodrigo Quiros as steady members of the band; and Emiliano Alvarez, Raly Barrionuevo, Horacio Cacorilis, Daniel Cantillana, Juampi Francisconi, Facundo Guevara, Ariel Hassan, Heleen de Jong, Kepa Junkera, Erik Manouz, Marcelo Moguilevsky, Osiris Rodriguez y Lito Vitale, as special guests.
In October 2009, Georgina was nominated for the Atahualpa awards on the section “Revelation, best female solo vocalist”.
She started 2010 touring the Province of Cordoba, Argentina. At the moment, she is heading for two new tours in April and May-June, to Germany, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
