"New York rock fans looking for a swift kick in the groin these days need look no further than Generals & Majors, a new outfit hewn together from shards of several once-hyped NYC bands." - SPIN

"Nursery rhyme lyrics, screamalong chorus, self-destructive angst and undeniable catchiness." - SALON.COM

Generals & Majors was formed in 2006 by founding members Jesse Korwin, Jared Gutstadt and Rich Majors, who had all played together in the now-dissolved indie-rock band Group Sounds.

Gutstadt and Korwin met while playing in alt-country band The Izzys. They remained band-mates on their next project Group Sounds; a NYC-area punk rock favorite that toured with Tapes n' Tapes, Hot Hot Heat and Radio 4, but they still hadn't found a way to channel the hard-hitting sound they craved. Finally, with guitarist Rich (who had also played in The Fever, Group Sounds), Generals & Majors held auditions and found their counterparts in drummer Jimmy Majors and lead singer Derrick Karg based on their intense performance style and uncanny musicality.

Generals & Majors' hard rock music blends a variety of influences from the likes of MC5, The Animals, Guns N' Roses, and The Misfits. Their music is often compared to these bands as well as Iggy and the Stooges, The Clash, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Critics have noted their reputation for delivering charged, passionate performances, called among the best in NYC. In its short career, Generals & Majors has already played to the packed rooms with bands such as The Kills, Mooney Suzuki, Diamond Nights, Bloody Social, Bouncing Souls and Bad Brains.

Please approach the self-titled EP and if you can, see Generals & Majors live. As SLASH of Guns N'Roses, Velvet Revolver says, "The best band I've heard in years."
