UK Midlands based Gary John Armstrong. Gary operates as a solo artist however still puts on a live full band show for his biggest tour dates. Gary has been known to have formed various projects to date, most recently The Beetroot Kings.
It is Gary's amazing song writing ability that always held prominence in every band and ensured keen interest from the likes of Dean Jackson for BBC Radio Nottingham, Will Anderson (Sony) and Jim Chancellor (Fiction). Each song stripped back to its bare bones, a vocal and an acoustic guitar, holds the same, if not more power than a finished full band sound. The problems that Gary had faced in the past while writing for a band format is that it always left him restricted to write for the bands particular genre. Gary's most comfortable style is undoubtedly folk with the melodic punk rock overtones this was seen most during the early years of his previous band, The Beetroot Kings which saw Gary and the Band playing most of the top folk festivals. Gary is one of the most fresh and dynamic song smiths of our time. He bares just about every part of his life in his songs, songs that we all can relate to, songs about life.real life.
