Garden State

When Garden State released their first single Make you smile in June 2008, Norwegian radio station NRK P3 called it their "sound of summer," while music journalists and fans wondered: "How good can the Garden State get? They've already gone further than anybody could have guessed."
Coming as it did on the heels of 2008's rowdy Propeller Sessions was indeed a pivotal and game-changing collection of songs. It led the next studio session including new songs as Waltzing In and All That You Do - two astonishing songs heard around the world. In the Norway, the band played highly acclaimed venues and festivals including Oya Festival in both 2007 and 2008 and a tour supporting singer/songwriter Einar Stenseng. While promoting Make You Smile, Garden State did acoustic radio sessions and the song was soon to be picked up by TV producers and used as theme song. The show exposed the band to a whole new audience and gave them more fans around Norway.
Musically the band combines genres as pop, country, rock and americana. With its stunning melodies, ringing guitars, and string arrangements, Garden State shows great variations and great songwriting.
