As one third of Harrisburg hip hop greats, Artists Over Industry, Gard's walk with music began at a young age. At the age of 13, Gard began self-taught lessons on his father's guitar strumming covers of classic rock songs to the explosive alternative grunge scene harbored by groups like Nirvana. While honing his guitar skills within the garage band scene, Gard stumbled upon this new phenomenon known as hip hop. Influenced by the golden era of early 90s boom bap, he became infatuated with the culture as a whole.

After high school, Gard continued his education down the often traveled path of conventional college, finding nothing but a sea of lost dreams and tradition that lead to dead ends. Two years into his education, Gard left college and became swallowed into the 9-5 lifestyle with no direction until he received a hand full of underground hip hop albums that rejuvenated his love for music. Around this time he was introduced to two other artists from the Central Pennsylvania area who were grinding their lives away passing out demos to whomever would lend an attentive ear.

Gard then purchased his first production tool, a Roland MC-303 drum machine, in what is now a well defined arsenal to lace guitar licks over. With a collection of beats compiled, Gard began offering his production to Inkwell the Biologic (A.O.I) and WindchILL (A.O.I.), who were lyricists trying to make a name for themselves around that time period. The emcees accepted Gard's offer, and the rest is history that continues to be written until this day.

After deciding to go back to college for his associate's degree, Gard took studio courses offered as electives to keep his attention striving towards the music. At the turn of his 21st birthday, Gard expanded his vast horizons by delving into the art of djaying, eventually purchasing his own pair of turntables and speaker equipment. When Artists Over Industry began work on their anticipated album, Leaps & Bounds, Gard's desire was well noticed by emcees Inkwell and WindchILL. They asked Gard to join the group as a resident producer and dj, ultimately adding a strong backbone to the trio.

Fast forward to the present, Gard continues his work with Artists Over Industry, and is the owner of his own company, Gard On Duty Productions. Along with his work with AOI, he's a seasoned producer, respected studio engineer and DJ, lending his talents to other Central Pennsylvania natives such as Apollo's Sun, Phynite and Foges to name a few. Gard's love for music runs deep in his veins as he continues to lace enchanting guitar melodies to his organic production and lend his hears to put the finishing touches on artists' records. Gard's contribution to the Pennsylvania hip hop scene is one that will never be forgotten as he paves his own path in through the music industry smashing the dead ends and traditions that once hindered his dreams.
