"his solo work allows far more space for his impressive guitar chops to shine. His affable, twangy style sits somewhere between Bill Frisells intricate jazz style and the bluesy sweetness of M Ward" TIME OUT NY- Critic.s Pick January 2010

INSPIRED BY NORTH AMERICAN ROOTS

"Diego Garcia is a talented axe man from Spain, who combines a little Danny Gatton, Scott Henderson, Michael Lee Firkins, Johnny A and Pat Metheny and comes up with Octopus, his debut solo CD. An instrumental affair, with occasional sound bytes for dramatic effect, the music on the album displays Garcia's North American music influences (jazz, blues, country), and also showcases a technically proficient player who shuns overloaded virtuosity in favor of interesting compositions. You'll be treated to graceful slide licks, ethereal volume swells, well-crafted solos and more - surely a treat for guitar fans. Octopus was released through Garcia's own label, RBK Music, and will be out in Japan and Germany in September of 2005."

"At the age of 8, Diego entered the Music Conservatory of Valencia (Spain). During the next seven years he studied classical guitar, harmony and music. At the age of 16, he was already teaching electric guitar to his own students at La Sala, a renowned school in Valencia. When he was only 15, he joined the band Rock 'n' Bordes, recorded two albums with them and played all over Europe during three successive tours. Diego later collaborated with artists such as Alberto Tarin,Merche Corisco,Sergio Dalma, Tam Tam Go, Tontxu,Alex Ubago ,Manolo Tena,Jaime Urrutia, Santiago Auseron, and Andres Calamaro, which led to his relocation to the Spanish capital of Madrid. He continued to work with many national artists, while he developed serious musical abilities and a real style and presence on the stage." (Guitar9 Records)
