The eight-member Ganga Fusion group have come a long way since their formation in 2001. Let me take you there. Let us imagine their voyage up until their musical discovery in Essaouira, this almost island-like town beside the Atlantic ocean. Yacin, Mounaim, Otman, Yassine, Robi, Kamal, Adil: all embody this courageous Moroccan youthfulness which involves the artistic meeting of different cultures. It reflects the incredible energy of a musical melting pot: gnaoua, reggae chaabi, salsa and jazz which are expressions of their search for artistic permanence, wafting the sultry winds and exotic spices of many continents. Having performed various concerts all over Morocco Ganga Fusion has taken the place by storm. After the recent release of their second album, Ganga Fusion has battled against winds, tides…and sand storms.



Ganga Fusion really set the place on fire when they performed on the terrace of the well-known restaurant/bar “Taros” during the Gnaoua Festivals of 2003, 2004 and 2005. They also performed at the Trans-atlantic Festival of 2004, the Festival of Agadir, 2003 and the Festival of young gnaoua talents, 2005. Ganga Fusion has played with world-renowned artists such as Manu Dibango, Youssu N’Dour, Jenny Kerr, Mokhtar Samba, M, Matt Guylmour,… Bref and have an amazing talent which truly lives up to the name of Ganga Fusion.
