First, I would like to thank you for your time. Second, I hope that you like good music. Galaxy Drive is an indie rock band from the Twin Cities, MN. They grew up here, picked up instruments, eventually met, and formed a band based off of their mutual musical interests. They’ve been sound checking for a while now in bars around the area and they love the hot lights. Galaxy Drive is excited to promote their first official release, ‘Crumbling Little Things’(2010). This fall they are planning to follow their release with a mid west tour.

Galaxy Drive’s music ranges from folk and spiritual to arena rock. They are a musical experience with melodies and guitars in patterns, blending sonic harmonies to create a unique yet familiar sound. Above all, as musicians, they enjoy the craft and are continually moving forward in their song structure and arrangement. The future is bright for these guys. Their music will speak for itself. So please, take a listen and find out for yourself.

Galaxy Drive creates opportunities to hone in on their sound. They have recorded at The Devils Workshop in Minneapolis and Old Blackberry Way in Dinkytown. They are also affiliated with Superior Sound Studios in Highland Park, St. Paul and the now defunct Minor 7 Studios in Minneapolis. Many times they have locked themselves in recording studios for months at a time while their lead guitarist and Army Staff Sergeant, Joe Gudim, has gone overseas for his two Iraqi tours. Joe is the education of Galaxy Drive having graduated from Music Tech in St. Paul. J.P. has written words in specific orders for 15 years in and out of educational facilities. Galaxy Drive is a group effort and everyone adds to the overall creativity of each project.

Galaxy Drive is ultimately categorized as indie rock. If you like Modest Mouse, the Velvet Underground, and Mogwai you will probably like Galaxy Drive. You should definitely give them a spin.

Galaxy Drive has been on WFTI radio at Notre Dame which has a world wide syndication. Also, an early song, Blood on the Train, from their unofficial release, A Remnant Remains (2008), now appears in the locally made movie, Thieves Like Us (2010).

Finally, here are the members of Galaxy Drive, no one’s in the back seat: J.P. Murphy (vocals, guitar) drives a Buick Century, Joe “the Goods” Gudim (guitars) drives a Suzuki xl 7, Mike G. Strobel (bass, vocals) drives a Toyota Tacoma, Pat Schneeman (drums) drives a Ford Taurus, and Jimmy Annala (keys, vocals) drives a Chevy Malibu.
