The birthplace of FREQUENT FLYER is on a steep and windy hill overlooking the San Francisco Bay. JAROND GIBBS is Frequent Flyer, the soothing INDIE-POP singer songwriter who's right at home with neighbors like MARK KOZELEK, whose song "Three Legged Cat" is delicately covered on FREQUENT FLYER's upcoming "Self-Titled" second release. Although this new album owes to Paris, Hollywood, and San Francisco its inspiration, Jarond was first discovered deep in the heart of sunny/smoggy west hollywood while fronting the band REDDY KILOWATT, whose demo tape is now to some, a prized possession. While recording and playing with the band MAJESTIC (1999-2001 Shelflife Records) he released "Jarond" on the BLACK BEAN & PLACENTA TAPE CLUB label (2000) in the U.S. and on Tone Vendor/Impartmaint in Japan. Jarond's new project "Frequent Flyer" builds on the groundwork left from his debut CD but takes us even further along with his explorations into minimal digital landscapes with intimate analog flair, not far from AIR or HIGH LLAMAS.
