"Houston's doin it's thing. Now it's time for Dallas to blow."

T-Dot born, Texas bred rapper Freeky T moved to Dallas in the mid 90’s and has been ‘doin it’ in Big D ever since. You can catch him anywhere in the city; from the Galleria Mall to Big T Bazaar; from Pappadeaux's in Arlington to Sweet Georgia Browns in Oak Cliff.

It's this versatility that separates T from a lot of other rappers. "Gangsta’s not really me. Even though I love it (gangsta rap,) I'm more into partying and sexy things. There’s a lot of storytelling in my music and everything I say, I've done or seen. It's all real talk." Although T has spent time in the hood, he wills always rep his suburban upbringing. "I represent Suburban Ghetto Ink."

Born Sean Travers, he admits that his name (Freeky T) came from the fact that he loves women. "My boys used to call me ST. Then one day we were just posted up and this girl introduced me to her friend. She asked, 'That's that freeky boy?' And it's been 'Freeky T' ever since."

T fell in love with the laid back lifestyle in Texas. “A lot of Toronto artists have major Caribbean influences and I didn’t really relate to that. I have a lot of respect for artists like Maestro, Kardinal, Jully Black, and K-OS. But my style was influenced by artists like O.G. Ron C, Pimpsta, UGK, Clint Black, and DSR.” He also gives props to his R&B mentors New Edition Guy, H-Town and Jagged Edge.

"Especially Bobby Brown, cause he flipped the R&B thing and always entertained.” T remembers back when he was a youngster and saw Brown perform. "I was in awe at how he took over the audience. He had all the ladies in the palm of his hand."

Currently, the Dallas representer is putting the finishing touches on “Ryda Music” a mix tape featuring Big Tite and other DSR artists hosted by Tum Tum. It will be released in April.

Freeky T's debut album entitled "Born a Freek" is destined for platinum status. His lead single "All Way That Way" featuring Big Tuck, is about life in Dallas. T introduces himself and let's everyone know where he's from. The track "Phone Freek" shows his freeky side. "Because of U" touches on dilemmas of love. Tracks "My Life" and "Move It" featuring Tum Tum are club bangers, and "Easy Money" is the Gambler's Anthem. With production by Trust, Grips, Milk and Zero, T admits, “There will be sumthin for everyone!”

With the growing number of Dallas gangsta rap acts solidifying their position in the industry, listeners can expect a smoother and softer delivery from Freeky T. He is certainly focused on making the ladies swoon.

Developing his skills in many other arenas, Freeky T started ‘Big League Film Support’ a security company for movie sets. After working on sets with Producer Rodney Jerkins (Honey), Camron (Paid In Full), Silk Tha Shocker and other celebrities, T decided to venture into acting himself. He is currently on location in Canada for the movie "The Limits".

When asked what advice he gives to artists that may not be sure on how to start their music career, he counsels, "Just watch others and get your plan together. Surround yourself with good people and most importantly, start networking!"
