http://1dmvj1bhgnm Fredbox and the butterscotch pancakes’ first release was the single ‘acid horns’ from the debut album ‘How high is Matthew Citrene’s bunk bed?’ This song was a hit and peaked at number 5 in the charts, it also featured in numerous television shows including ‘to buy or not to buy’, ‘Whose house is this?’ 'I'm joining the circus to impress my wife' and 'Antiques Roadshow' The album was subsequently released but was not a hit, until the second single came out, ‘The wonders of modern technology’ this was also a top ten hit. This song was featured in the compilation album ‘Not Now 75’. It was then that people started going out and buying the album, it made it to number 12 in those UK chart things. The other two singles from the album did not get the same success, ‘Fatboy slim vs girls aloud’ and the remix of Eminem’s ‘Stan’ both failed to get into the UK top 40. The album was then released in USA with bonus track ‘John Proctor Has A Beard’.

Just before the release of the second album ‘Linesmen and potato Mashers’ James Sims was put up for twenty five Brit awards including best solo artist, best album, and most nominations however he didn’t win any.

The second album was different from the last, as most of the songs were written by Sims unlike the first album were the majority were remixes. The first single released from the album was ‘The beat kicks’ a more typical Electronica/Big beat sounding record, with repetitive lyrics and computerised instruments. This song was well received by all 13 people that listened to it. The b-side of this single contained a remix from Explosive Corrosive Joseph. The two other singles from the album were ‘My Pancreas’ and ‘Hi hat tom tom’ these were not as popular but still made it into the UK top 600.

Fredbox and the butterscotch pancakes’ next release was originally set out to be an album but Sims stated that all of the songs he had made thus far, were different from before, and he wanted it to stay like that, so he finished it halfway through making the album. It became the ‘Paco Sweetman EP’. The EP contained a song which was very different from any other, Sims himself called it ‘Orchestra with a beat’. The song was Rash Oberts, the name of which is said to have come from friend of Sims, Ash Roberts. This song proved a big success and was Sims’ 3rd top ten hit. This was the only single released from the ‘Paco Sweetman EP’ the b-side of which was a drummed up version of Scott Joplin’s ‘The Entertainer’.

After the success of the ‘Paco Sweetman EP’ Fredbox and the butterscotch pancakes took some time out and their next album was released over 3 years after. There was a lot of pressure on Sims for the forthcoming album after his previous 3 had all been hits. It did not disappoint and was labelled by the NME as ‘Genius’ who had previously criticised Sims’ work. It was entitled ‘My astounding collection of hats’. The first single ‘Battle of the ducks’ was an immediate entry to his nans top ten favourite records of all time, and stayed there for several weeks, sadly it never reached number one. The next single ‘the funk horn fluke’ was heavily based on his first ever single ‘Acid Horns’ however it did not prove nearly as successful and failed to reach the top 40. Sims bounced back with a top 5 single with ‘Manic Mayhem’ This song won multiple awards for its video which included many of Sims’ heroes including Dom Jolly, Owen Wilson, Norman Cook and Mother Teresa.

After that album there was hope that that could be it from Fredbox and the butterscotch pancakes, bt to the anger and dismay of the majority of the general public, it wasn't.

Sims’ next release was a remix of ‘to get down’ by Timo Maas however this was a self proclaimed ‘piece of crap’ so nobody bought it.

Six months later he released the greatest hits album, ‘Anyone for Pancakes?’ this was set to be released on shrove Tuesday, but sadly the day before the album was set to go out, Sims was found dead in his mansion by a local burglar. Despite Sims’ death the album was released as planned, the album went straight to number one and stayed there for a remarkable ten weeks. There are some suspicions over Sims’ death and it was claimed by some people to be a complete hoax, as Sims was spotted several times after his alleged death, and when doing the post mortem examinations the forensic team described his body to look ‘remarkably like a manikin’

Despite Sims being no longer with us, he managed to release an autobiography, entitled ‘Being me’ this was claimed by Sims’ management team to have been written before he died, however there were some disputes over this as in the book Sims takes us through his death. Even though there was a lot of controversy over this book it was still a huge success, and was hailed by the queen as ‘the best book ever’Aswell as making music James Sims plays in the NFL for the New York Giants

Ben Nelson doesnt have anythin to do with this whatsoever, he did however, say this - ''Hey Man!

Thanks for the add!
