DESCRIPTION:
This is a rehearsal of The Serpents Tale by Leonid Streyev (this version is much shorter than the original piece). I competed in the Forensics Serious Drama Competition Category A of Puerto Rico and got 4th place with this piece. This is simply a practice a few days before. I steppped it up a notch in the competition of course and made a few adjustments like adding more hissing, slowing it down a bit, raised my voice more in certain parts and played a bit more with the body movements. Also in the competition in the end of the monologue I tackle the chair then say die and then I licked my teeth and hissed to make the ending more understandable. This piece is much more intense in person. The key is the eye contact (for that hypnotism illusion) and the balance between creepy and seductive.
