UN JOUR COMME CA
Florent Richard derrière son piano, propose de sa belle voix grave un univers toujours aussi poétique et sensible, parfois plus détaché et piquant que sur "L'art et la manière" son premier album. Si Pierre Chazal son auteur attitré est toujours bien présent, Florent Richard est désormais également auteur ("Le temps" et "Les pieds sur terre"). On notera cependant la collaboration de Marie Nimier et Thierry Illouz (Art Mengo, Daniel Lavoie.) pour un sensible piano/voix, "Mélodie" et celle de Yan Mollin (Christophe, S.Vartan.) pour le plus pop de ces onze nouveaux titres, "Sonne, sonne sonne".
Entouré de son trio de musicien habituel, Stanislas Augris à la batterie, Laurent Larcher à la contrebasse et Fabrice Theuillon aux saxophones (soprano et baryton), il a sollicité la collaboration soutenue du vibraphoniste David Neerman (Yun Sun Nah) et étendu ses talents d'arrangeur à l'écriture pour quatuor à cordes notamment pour le mystérieux "D'un tableau à l'autre".
N'hésitant pas à emprunter quelques mesures à Brahms afin de nous proposer encore une fois un instrumental tout en finesse, "Embrahmssez moi", Florent Richard nous livre un second album musicalement assumé. Emprunt de jazz (Swing ou Coltrainien) dans ses parties instrumentales les plus développées, pop et romantique dans ses chansons les plus Variété.

Florent Richard inherited his love for music from his grandmother, who played the piano, and from his father, who sang, even though neither of them ever made a living with art. As a teenager subdued by William Sheller and Serge Gainsbourg, he focused on making that dream come true. Born in 1978 in Choisy-le-Roi, near Paris, he actually spent 10 years learning the cello and music theory, and then discovered jazz and the upright bass at the American School of Paris. With these solid classical bases, he made his debut as bass player in the musical “L’Air de Paris“, with Patrick Dupont, moving on to clubs and venues in Paris with numerous jazz and electro-jazz combos, such as Blast. He then joined the band Les Elles on stage, and ended up arranging their studio album “Siamoises“. Meanwhile, he’d also been composing his own songs, with his lyricist Pierre Chazal, and sent a few of them simply recorded on piano and melodica to a producer. A singing class later, in order to help him place his voice, Florent Richard was ready, with his first album to show for it. “L’art et la manière“ allows him to fully express himself, as a pianist, a composer, an arranger and an interpreter.
