When they started this band they had already been dabbling in music for a few years. Their first release was a compilation called “Technical Choas”, released by Mark Laliberte, a college DJ in Canada in 92”. The full compilation “Mechanics of Deconstruction” featued bands like: Exorcist, Din, Vampire Rodents, STG, Digital Poodle to name a few. This band, Fektion Fekler, was among the above.

Harnessing a sound that utilizes elements of electro, pop, industrial and ambient with an at times quirky sense of addictive rhythm, Fektion Fekler has been pushing the envelope of electronic music for over a decade now. Their sound is danceable, yet, is music that one can dance to as much with the heart as one does with their feet, the sound can not really be categorized at all. There are simply some bands that can only be labeled as themselves and that is one of the rarest honors in this age of often-copycat music.

Brothers John and Robert Bustamante formed Fektion Fekler in 1989. They have appeared on many compilations including the first of the Elektrauma series. They released a full-length cassette entitled Distressed Tension on SPH Records and an EP called Soul Assassin on Bright Green Records. After many years of hiding out, Fektion Fekler finally reappeared in early ‘96 with more compilation work, and the long-awaited debut CD on Pendragon Records, From Here to Heaven which was released to critical acclaim both domestically and internationally, a CD composed of more than a decade of work.

Fektion Fekler returned in late 1998 with their second album, Kling Klang Bedlam, which traded many of the hardcore industrial dance for more melodic, layered songs detailing love, loss, and in the end hope and energy. From the beautiful ballads like Unconditional Surrender and Maker Make Believe to ultra energetic dance floor fillers like Dowser That Couldn’t Dowse and Limpic, the CD is one of those few with no filler at all. Every song lends itself to one another, making a sonic tapestry of sound with no equal in both emotion and melody. And, unlike a lot of electro and industrial groups put there, they make no sacrifice of the fun and playful elements in their sound. In 2000 Robert signed with ArtofFact Records and released the lone gem, Moksha A People Undone with new member Sean Whitehead handling the vocal duties A People Undone again flew past its peers wth beautiful melodies, dance floor killers and hard industrial songs would make this an instant classic. After A People Undone Fektion Fekler seemed to have dissappeared from the scene altogether. In 2004 Fektion Fekler resurfaced as the premier signing to Static Sky Records in the US and Black Flames Records in Europe. It seemed that Fektion Fekler had a pleathra of new material that would again challenge the “industrial scene”. Now, with new material complete and ready to land on the electronic audience with a mass amount of cross-appeal, Fektion Fekler is back with a vengeance after all these years! Now with a style incorporating newfound acoustic elements, the sound of Fektion Fekler has gone even further ahead of its peers. Songs for the dance floors, and songs for the heart, Fektion Fekler has something to offer anyone, from Depeche Mode fans to New Wave fans to Industrial fans, and beyond. Their sound is pure addiction and energy!

There most recent releases includes a rarities album "Immersed Heroics" (which sold out in a matter of weeks and a Best of Fektion Fekler " Angels of Analog released by Synthcere Records and Klangdynamic Records oversea's. Fektion Fekler still keeps pushing the boundaries of Electronic music. Fektion Fekler seem to have come full circle at full speed. Fektion Fekler is what they are. Following a light. Pure, sincere and full of creativity it’s no wonder Fektion Fekler still remains a respected band in the Industrial genre.
