DESCRIPTION:
Several bands have used the name Lamb over the years.

1. The most widely-known Lamb hails from Manchester, England, and is commonly associated with the trip-hop genre during the 90s and 00s. They incorporated into their musical style a distinctive mixture of jazz, dubs, breaks, and drum n bass with a strong vocal element and, in their later works especially, some acoustic influences. They are known for their highly experimental work, a distinctive production style, Lous often passionate lyrical style, and their artistic videos.

Their most well known track to date is PlayGorecki, from their eponymous debut album (Lamb) and inspired by Henryk Góreckis Third Symphony, the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. Several of Lambs songs were used for motion picture soundtracks. PlayGabriel (from What Sound, the bands third album) featured in the Italian film 3 Metri Sopra il Cielo. Parts of the lyrics to PlayGorecki were used by Baz Luhrman for some of Satines final lines in Moulin Rouge, and the track is rumoured to have been covered by Nicole Kidman. PlayLullaby featured in the credits of Aime ton père (2002; directed by Jacob Berger; starring Gérard Depardieu and his son Guillaume). The trackPlayFivefrom Fear of Fours was used as the intro for Ray Mears Extreme Survival on the Discovery Channel

In February 2005 they announced that the band members would pursue their own projects, ending their collaboration for now. Their last concerts were in Paradiso, Amsterdam, and were filmed to be used for a live DVD.
