Like a Phoenix rising out of the ashes, Fight Before Surrender was formed out of failed projects and a need for solid, hardworking punk rock in early January of 2003. Since then, they have defined the term "hardworking," by nonstop touring across America, touching 42 of the continental 48 states and playing almost 400 shows. While bringing more energy and excitement than a two-year-old hopped up on candy, FBS destroys eardrums with hard-hitting punk rock through the influences of Motorhead, GBH, and The Exploited. Even with member changes and personal heartache threatening to infect the band with a short life, nothing seems to slow this band down. Their name, Fight Before Surrender, is the best description for this band.

The following is a review from www.hussieskunk.com

Street punkers FBS, hailing from the mighty metropolis of Springfield, Ohio, blast through eleven tracks of stunning hardcore street punk rock, reminescent of Legbone, Monster Squad and Career Soldiers. FBS often sounds similar to Legbone on this album, with the high energy, explosive sounds and sing along choruses, however that's the end of the comparison. FBS's lyrical content comes out more along the lines of Career Soldiers and Monster Squad, highly intelligent and specifically focused on class, work, touring and tough times. FBS belts out their brand of street rock like no other, their harmonies on "Hope For The Rejected" a slow moving acoustic ballad, the aggressive nature of "Fight Before Surrender" and the heavily chanted chorus of "Brainwashed" accelerate this disc to the front of the line in contemporary street punk sounds. I really dig each and every track on this album, as the band's emotive skills in delivering a meaningful song is unapproachable by many bands in the same genre. FBS sounds convincing of the lyrics and their support and disdain for all of the subjects referenced in their lyrics. Fans of street punk in general will adore this album, those of you looking for a solid punch on the face of fast paced punk n roll will be left eyes wide open and even a casual listener to the sounds won't be able to wlk away. FBS are true masters of blistering loud and screaming hot street punk rock that will not disappoint at any level. -MG
