Among many singers theres only one artist that is truly capable of putting the real back into R&B, A. West the singer/ songwriter also known as The Bodyguard of R&B is picking up where notable legends such as Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross left off. His candid musical style offers soul-wrenching lyrics that are sure to captivate any audience and creatively, this talented visionary is more than ready to become an unstoppable force in the industry.

As a native of Jesup, Georgia, 24-year-old A. West was greatly influenced by his spiritual upbringing and at the age of thirteen, A. West started his musical development by learning how to play the drums. This early exploration with music led him to performing in local talent shows. As a young man, West never lost his passion for music and continued to pursue his dreams whether working odd jobs or traveling the southeast in hopes of finding some type of industry connect. He was relentless about making his dreams a reality. So as fate would have it in 2004, Wests older brother introduced him to Furquann, the CEO of Florida Boy Intertainment (FBI) a record company located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Although he initially started out working as a bodyguard protecting the labels artist Jody Moe, West knew that he would somehow be the labels number one star. After Jody Moes untimely death, it seemed as though Jody passed on the torch to West and deemed him The Bodyguard of R&B. As time passed, A. West continued to work on his craft and eventually Furquann took notice and to no avail in 2006, A. West was officially signed to Florida Boy Intertainment (FBI). Now with his untitled debut album, which set to be released in 2007, A. West is more than ready to give his listeners what has been missing from R&B music. His hot new single appropriately titled Grown and Sexy is currently burning up the airwaves across the southeast and creating a buzz within the industry. When asked how he feels about being able to create his first album, West says, This is going to be a great opportunity for me to tell my story, I just want to reach the hearts and minds of the Grown and Sexy audiences around the world.

Now that the stage is set for The Bodyguard of R&B to deliver his heart felt lyrics and melodies, he is prepared to take his listeners on his own musical journey. His style of classic love songs and modern up-tempo tracks is a refreshing mix of the past, present, and future of R&B and his overall talent is clearly undeniable.
