Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's Drop is on a New Zealand mission this summer with The Road to Opononi Summer Tour, bringing home our epic Live at Roundhouse World Tour.
We've played West Coast and Hawaii in the USA and across Europe, hit Australia in November and now we're packing trombones, analogue synths, waterskis, tennis rackets and fishing rods for The Road to Opononi.
The tour celebrates the release this year of Live at Roundhouse capturing one epic night at the historic venue in Camden in 2008. Our other new release is The Raft a limited edition 7" vinyl featuring The Raft Radio Edit and on Side B, The Raft Steppers Dub an instrumental remix by DJ Fitchie.
The Raft originally appeared on the album Dr Boondigga & The Big BW. The second studio album shipped Gold on release in NZ in 2009, hitting Platinum in four days and landing the Number 1 spot on the NZ Music Album Charts for five weeks straight.
Dr Boondigga & The Big BW heavyweight double Gatefold vinyl is out of the lab and available alongside a re-press of BOATS double gatefold 12" vinyl.
.In 2005 we released our first studio album Based On A True Story that won numerous awards and unleashed our sound worldwide. Earlier releases included Live at Matterhorn and limited edition vinyls Midnight Marauders and HOPE that both got Freddy's into the best clubs and people consciousness.
Toby Chang enthuses that “we’ve absorbed a few influences along the way – Berlin bashment, Portuguese top forty, Tooting Bhangra Beat and Montmartre TV shop Techno Hi-Life”.
