Having been vocally trained in Opera and Jazz; Fae revels in live performances. Drawing from all her musical influences, Fae has idiosyncratically fused Hiphop, Jazz, Rare Groove, Soul and Dub in her song writing. Having toured the London unsigned scene, performing tracks from her largely anticipated debut album, "Mellowdrama", which has been released via online download, Fae became a firm underground favourite.
Gaining further performance experience from supporting N'Dambi at London's Jazz Café, to touring with Yarah Bravo & Trommel Tobi on her 'Good Girls Rarely Make History' tour; Fae has introduced Europe to a new facet of her HipHop Jazz style, complementing Yarah's melodic & energetic Hip Hop performances and headlining 'Got Soul' at the Bohannon Jazz Club, Berlin in November 2010.
2011 brought two fresh releases: 'RoyalFlushLushSelf' taken from the 'Faerie in the Cloudz' EP, an experimental collaborative EP reflecting a journey of the alter egos of Jonas McCloud aka CloudFistConceptz; and Fae Simon aka the AfroFaerie, available for download on the 'Untold Songs' Compilation for Amnesty International featuring Ursula Rucker, Heidi Vogel & Yarah Bravo; and 'I See You' a Reggae/Dub hit on the 'Love The Music' Compilation released by Ryff Music in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourist Organization, featuring Singing Melody and Aloe Blacc.
Currently working on her second album having toured 'Faerie in the Cloudz' in Europe, and supporting UK rapper Jehst on his 'Dragon of An Ordinary Family' Tour last year, which was launched at London's Fabric Night Club in June 2011 and showcased at the Big Chill Festival, UK and the Outlook Festival, Croatia; this year is already looking good for Fae. Performing with Jehst at London's Cargo, alongside 'Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly' and 'The Engineerz'; as well as pending releases with Ramson Badbonez, Cross Bone T , Sun of Selah, Jehst, and AmP Outernational, we look forward to hearing and seeing more of this multi-faceted chanteuse.
