FACE

Face began her musical carreer starting as a backing vocalist/dancer choreographer for Eastenders ‘Michelle Gayle’. This allowed her to progress as a dancer and inevitably moving on to become a Choreographer. Here she specialized in Artist Development; preparing artists such as ‘Beverley Knight’, ‘Jamelia’, ‘Sugababes’, ‘Robyn’, ‘Spice Girls’ (to name a few) for stage, video and upcoming releases. Having established herself as both Dancer and Choreographer, Face continues creatively to now highlight her vocal, song-writing ability.

Working in Rodgers and Hammerstien Centenery stage production, Drury Lane Theatre London, she continued to realize her passion to sing, switching from touring as a dancer/choreographer to a backing vocalist.

As a featured lead vocalist with group 4HERO, 2000Black, Nutmeg, DKD and numerous other offsets of this camp, she has been heard though seldom seen.

Born and raised in London, of Jamaican parentage, her early musical influences reflect her cultural heritage. This developed into the diverse sounds which are prominent in the freshness of both her song-writing and music.

".MGM musicals were my thing growing up. I'm not ashamed to say I loved any musical with Mario Lanza, Deana Durbenetc to name a few. I'd sing Kate Bush's 'Wuthering Heights' around the house; I liked anyone from Billy Joel, Barbara Streisand to Stevie Wonder, Barry White, Luther, Hathaway, Minne Rippleton - I still do. At school I ventured into 'Lovers Rock', and sang on sound systems; then came Jazz, a bit late for my liking; I could relate to different musical influences, this reflects in the different vocal styles as well as the music I sing today. I hooked up with the 4HERO camp in 97 and have been singing with that camp ever since."

Having written for both English and Japanese Artists 4HERO, Hajime Yoshizawa, Toshihiko Mori and Mondo Grosso, her song-writing remains an important fixture, depicting both personal and worldly views.

".I do write about relationships, but I don't feel they are typical; I try to come from angles which are not surface. I write about lovers, family, friends, children - society. Whatever touches me, though the occasionally madness does slip in there."

'FACE' hopes to reintroduce the solo appeal, bringing a refreshing sound whilst maintaining that feel good factor.

The album is definitely on the way…though in the meantime her vocals can be heard blessing the sounds of 2000black, 4hero, nutmeg, DKD….surely a woman to keep your eye on
