The story of EYEJACK is the unlikely tale of two musicians who came straight out of nowhere, or rather from different worlds: two planets that came together to create a unique sound. Cyrille Jakob, guitarist and composer, was raised with rock music, from Aerosmith to Van Halen. Ilan Evans, singer and writer, was on the other hand brought up surrounded by jazz and opera which he studied for several years, and cites Nina Simone as his biggest influence.
Their combined personalities and talents translates to a fusion of rock and soul music. Their first album is produced by the community-based record label, My Major Company and released with Warner records France . In the summer 2009 , they recorded their first album in London , with French producer and singer Sophie Delila and british sound engineer and producer Jon Kelly, they worked with a team of renowned musicians such as Derrick Mc Kenzie ' Jamiroquai' s drummer or Simon Hale string arranger for Seal, Bjork and many more artists. They started touring France in the fall 2008 , and were invited to open for the French act Justice at the festival de Cannes in May 2008 , they quickly started to perform in London as well .They were invited in september to perform at the Tedx conference Med , as well as the the Ted conference universités Paris .
Their first eponymous album is a perfect blend of soul and rock , Ilan's impressive voice swiflty changes from smooth and deep to aggressive and powerful as the songs take us on a happy yet very mature and ecclectic musical journey.
