Mastering the techniques of production and engineering, EXC exhibits a sound and style that is like none other. Pure drive and creativity have become the signature of the music he fashions as his own. He has produced and recorded in a number of various genre’s including: Pop, R&B, Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, Orchestra, Norteno, and Folk.

EXC whos real name is Skylar Mones didn't climb the traditional latter from intern to employee. Instead he recorded his own album and invested the profit made off selling it out of the trunk into buying his own equipment. He would spend the next 2 years building up his knowledge of the equipment he purchased by recording albums and subsequently enrolling in college courses designed to teach him the art of recording. Midway through the semester he was hired by a local studio as second engineer assistant. He eventually worked his way up to first engineer and later on to manager. After working at Legit sound for 4 years he opened up his own studio and began A.I.L. Sound in 2006. EXC has worked with many of the "trend setters" in popular music including but not limited to: Flo-Rida, Young Buck, Spice 1, 2 live crew, Rob G, NB Riders and Kristine Mirelle.
