In the year 2012 NASA's Terrestrial Planet Finder discovered a planet 116 light years away that was thought could be an Earth like planet. It was named Nuropa. An unmanned exploratory ship was sent in 2032 on a one-way mission to send back data from the planet. It is the 3rd planet of a twin red dwarf star system. On reaching the planet after a 580 year journey it sent back data and images received in 2728. But by this time Earth had become a very different place. They then began designing the shuttle for the mission that I am about to embark, an international project to send the first humans to the new planet to begin a new civilization.

It will take 214 years for me to travel to Nuropa. I will reach the planet in the year 3000

It is the hope of the Earth's people that this new human population will not follow the same course that has brought about the Earths sterilization and pollution as well as the moral downfall of the people where technology has overtaken humanity.
