WHO WE ARE

Eureka Machines are a Leeds-based rock/punk/pop band, who have played all over the UK with bands like The Wildhearts, Forward Russia and The Rascals. We opened the BBC Introducing Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2008, too. So that's why you pay your licence fee.

We released our debut album Do Or Die (Wrath Records, WRATHCD48) on September 1st 2008 and got some nice press, which you can see down there on the left. Our favourite was the one in The Sun which called us 'power pop perfection'. The one that made us saddest was the one that said 'Eureka Machines are here to rock (in the lightest sense)', somewhere on the internet. Oh well.

We are DIY in the general sense of the term (our old bassist Steve runs the label, Chris books the gigs, Dave cuts out flyers and Wayne makes the tea. we're working on a job for Pete), but we have lots of mates who help us out, generally for nothing. (Big ta to Damian Tichborne for the website, Matt Reid at Lonely Hearts for design and artwork, and Gav for helping us get some nice gigs.) But we also have aspirations beyond playing to our mates in backrooms of dodgy pubs in Whereverthefuck. Ethics, DIY, punk rock and Sticking It To The Man is all good, but how can you get a message out there by only playing to each other?

We wear the suits because it makes us feel good. Every gig for us is an occasion. You wouldn't get married in your shorts, would you? Well, you might, but we wouldn't.

WATCH US ON'T TELLY

Please watch these and leave a nice comment if you can.

Here's an interview we did with Alastair from Underkill TV, who was nice.

Here's our second video from the album. It's called Being Good Is Okay, But Being Better's Better (out in September 2009 on a free download, backed up with all-new song Living In Squalor), and it's directed by the marvellous Paul Morricone at Poison Pen Films:

Here's the first video from the album - the forthcoming single Everyone Loves You (out in April 2009), by those fine folk at AshTV:

Here's a live video, filmed at Unity Day in Hyde Park, Leeds, also by the very lovely people at AshTV.

The Story Of My Life:

And finally, here's the soon-to-be-legendary one-off edition of Cribs filmed at Chris Catalyst's house again for AshTV. featuring Eureka Machines action from the studio, fridge, palatial gardens and some hot tub activity which might just give you twitchy nightmares for years to come. Sit back, relax, and most of all enjoy.

There's a bunch more videos on the, er, video page of our website.

SOME FLYERS AND POSTERS FOR GIGS WE'RE DOING

RIOT PROMOTIONS proudly presents .

Eureka Machines . A collision of riotous rock, punk energy and orchestrated heavy metal guitars welded to solid vocals, a regiment full of harmonies and the pummelling power of bass and guitars with no gimmicks, no intellectual pretension, just straightforward, head for the central nervous system guitar pop

Patchwork Grace . Patchwork Grace are a glamorous explosion of early Manic Street Preachers’ aggression and urgency blended with the quirkiness of alt rock luminaries such as The Horrors, The Hives and The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. But don’t be fooled, the band have wide ranging influences from Nirvana to The New York Dolls; The Ramones to Kate Bush.

From This Day Forward . Pop-Punk from Nottingham

Shush! . Featuring Milena Yum from AntiProduct Shush! are multi-national, poly-cultural, and many faceted. Shush are a bright spark from the fires of what is best termed alternative pop-rock. They've got the sort of breezy, breathy sense of melody that enriches the sounds of bands from the Foo Fighters to Horror Pops and McQueen
