Endo Four started back in 2000 with three childhood friends jamming around at
the early age of 14. Those three founding members are Derek Macdonald, Ryan
Speziale and Gordie Beckerson. In need of a drummer, they quickly found Joey
Ridos to fill the spot.
Now with all
fronts covered, Endo Four began writing simple, light-hearted songs about
dreams, experiences and relationships that may or may not have actually existed
(they were only 14, after all). But as they matured, so did their songs and
outlook on the band. Over the next couple years, the band was their main focal
point, and playing as many shows as possible became their main priority. This
drive to perform eventually brought about several shows that the band put on
themselves. Gordie contacted and made arrangements with a few venues in the
Hamilton area to bring in some well-known touring acts. At this point, with
hundreds of shows under their belt and support from friends, family and the
Hamilton scene, Endo Four was well on their way.
Then, in 2005, while on a break from
traveling with Kiros as they were hitting their Warped Tour dates, Gordie
was in a serious car accident in the Calgary area which cost him his life.
Devastated, Derek, Ryan and Joey were out both a bass player, and a best
friend. The three remaining members took some personal time off from the
band, and just under a year later they came back to Endo Four stronger
than ever. With a slight line-up change that consisted of Derek putting
down the guitar and picking up the bass, Endo Four began writing again and
with a new sense of being; The band was reborn.
In 2006,
Endo Four finished recording their first EP, a self titled disc that
represents the time of their lives between the loss of a friend, and the
beginning of something new. They’ve shared the stage multiple times with
such acts as Silverstein, Ill Scarlett, The Reason, Boys Night Out, The
Junction and Saint Alvia Cartel.
