Formed by primary-school friends Adrian Hoffmann and Jesse Brown. The Morning Night grew up on a musical diet of The Triffids, The Church & The Go-Betweens.

After years of gigging in Bedrooms and, more recently, as headliners on the perth live circuit, they developed a distinctive sound - part alt.country and part West Coast guitar-laden pop (think Wilco meets Love) - that reached an early highpoint on 2009 single 'Decide What You Want'. That sound is now much richer and even more distinctive on Ricky Maymi (The Brian Jonestown Massacre)- produced debut album, Otis which will be released July 2011 through Walking Horse Music.

For a young band, The Morning Night have made a strong impression on some of the country's most respected artists Martyn P Casey (The Triffids / Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds / Grinderman) joined them on stage at The Fremantle Arts Centre for the book launch of Vagabond Holes: David McComb and The Triffids, while Graham Lee (The Triffids) and Richard Lane (The Stems) appear as special guests on their debut album.
The Morning Night have shared bills with The Black-Eyed Susans, Jill Birt and Alsy McDonald (The Triffids), Jimmy Barnes, Lisa Mitchell, Oh Mercy and Dan Sultan.

Adrian Hoffmann sang and played with The Triffids on their recent European extravaganza, A Secret In The Shape Of A Song. He regularly plays bass for Steve Kilbey (The Church) and appears as a special guest on Jill Birt's forth-coming debut solo album.
