Emi Meyer is a bilingual singer-songwriter and pianist known for her poetic lyrics and voice. Born in Kyoto, Japan, she moved to Seattle before the age of one. Having studied jazz and classical piano since a young age, Emi began her musical career at the keyboard. She self-produced her first album, Curious Creature, in 2007. Never afraid to experiment and take matters in her own hands, she is paving a path between Los Angeles and Tokyo and just finished a degree in Ethnomusicology. Her new Japanese album Passport was recorded with musicians in the US, Japan and Brazil. Her newest English album is Suitcase of Stones (2011).
"Emi Meyer is carving out her own uniquely soulful and melodic style of songwriting. She clearly has her own voice as a singer/songwriter. I for one impatiently anticipate what the future holds for her."
—Larry Goldings, Pianist / Composer
"Emi Meyer's debut album Curious Creature gives lovers of music something to look forward to for years to come. With a voice that belies her youth, Emi's songs are wrought with thoughtfulness. She's quickly become one of my favorite new artists."
—Ray Yee, Director of Film / TV Relations for BMI
