Elohymn

Elohymn originate from a small town in northwest England (Chorley). After a year of member alterations, travelling and other excursions settled as a three piece in late 2005. Cryptic meanings and unusual fusion of style keep Elohymn amused in the laboratory. With no vocals, their music shines like obsidian, their pummeling slowing down into a dreamlike, transcendent passage that drifts in orbit before giving way to unidentifiable electronic chitterings, investigations of alien worlds. Another sharp turn and we’re riding a funky jungle groove, sudden leaps into the sky and crashes back down providing a backdrop to more disorienting and unintelligible talk from dislocated voices. There’s something of the Mars Volta in their twisted, exotic space rock, clattering percussion and jagged guitar lines flowing into feedback into the next song (I think) with nary a pause between. Now this music is urgent, charging across the sky, over imaginary landscapes of sound like some demented horror movie. Rubbery basslines, stalking terrors creeping in the shadows, ascendant vibes. Who needs words anyway?"
