Ed' Tudor Pole & his band 'TEN POLE TUDOR' enjoyed a number of UK Hit Singles between 1979 and 1981, with their signature Hit being 'Swords Of A Thousand Men' which hit the u.k charts at UK no 6 in 1981.
ED TUDOR POLE is a descendant of Henry VIII (not many of those have appeared in UK Pop Charts) and initially went to RADA to train
as an actor but fell in with The SEX PISTOLS in 1978 after the departure of John Lydon from the band (he appeared in the film The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle performing his own number 'Who Killed
Bambi') , however, 2 weeks into the Pistols bassist Sid Vicious died, and the rest is history.
During the 90's he appeared regularly on UK TV presenting the TV show The Crystal Maze and now spend his time regularly performing live all over the world.
Ed' is looking forward to playing more & more live show's with his Amazing 'one man band'.! All interested parties, venues, promoters etc, please get intouch with Crucial Talent agency who's booking shows right now.! (top of friends list)

Calling all peoples of this fair and sceptred Isle. Rally to the Tudor flag and let us unite the Kingdom in song and dance. Marvel at the splendour of the musical court as we raise our spirits with those hallmark Ten Pole tunes, new and old, performed to the sort of rocking beat that compels movement.
This Century's incarnation of the Tudor fever was forged in the white heat of the Punk explosion. Ed Tenpole writing and performing two songs with the Sex Pistols before that group's demise by death, and going on to create the chart-busting Ten Pole Tudor.
"We take our inspiration from the men who began it all; Berry, Lewis, the Stones etc" says Ed. "I'm going to carry on till I die. The reaction from the crowd tells me we're doing the right thing, not that I have a choice in the matter".

"I don't bother with a band anymore" he says. "I don't see the point. It's just a lot of crash bang wallop so now you'll get me on my own. But the point is I play the guitar and the crowd. I'm a sort of ringmaster. I try to rouse the crowd up.
"The secret of playing on your own is not to strum away madly to make up for the lack of a band, but to be very precise and minimal. Sometimes you can get it down to just one string and the crowd set up the beat stamping on the ground or singing along.
"Then when they do a response I do a harmony to their response, so on a good night it's a big noise. I don't belong in any acoustic tent!
"People look blankly at me when I try and describe my one man show but you've got to see it to believe it" he continues. "Because when it's good it's really good. It's much more dangerous but that's why I like it. It's easy to go on with a band, you just make loads of noise and people seem to think it's alright because they don't know any different."
Tenpole insists that you are only as good as the crowd and that applies to any gig in any venue.
"You have to make a relationship with the audience, you have to connect in some way and that's always been true."

'Tenpole Tudor' have a new digitally re-mastered 'best of' double c.d out in the shop's now, featuring all the hits, the rarities, & some obscure live recordings from back in the day. According to the c.d cover note's:-

" Tenpole Tudor emerged in the post-punk era, but the good-humored, drunken-party feel of their records had more in common with the U.K. Pub-rock sound that predated punk. This collection puts their first two albums for Stiff Records together in one place, as the band combines a raffish punk sensibility with rockabilly roots and a tart tongue planted firmly in their collective cheek.!"
