THE MISSIONA heavy metal band hailing from Atlanta, GA., Eclipsed By Sanity (E.B.S.) is a balanced blend of a musically diverse metal sound and powerful stage performance including a fair share of melody, harmonization, and in your face guitar work. Their influences range from early Metallica and Megadeth to Testament and Lamb of God.

Make no mistake - this band takes pride in writing original, dynamically powerful music that every heavy metal music lover and critic can appreciate. Proving to be an effective unit on stage, they have worked hard to become the rising force in the metal scene in and around Atlanta, GA. and they will continue to forge ahead, delivering a live performance that people will not soon forget.

THE HISTORY

Lead Guitarist Val Allen Wood, Bassist Zakk Sherrer, and Rhythm Guitarist Jeremy Sherrer sought to revive the definitive and true brand of metal that seemed to be buried under the popular core styles which have dominated the scene in recent years. The vision of Eclipsed By Sanity came together in early 2006, and by this time the band had gained Drummer, Daniel Rutherford, thus began the music. Not long after, Vocalist 'Patrick Hoyt' Parris was found to solidify a line-up that took control and continued to dominated the metal scene with a relentless, high-energy stage performance that has only improved since their first appearance in the scene.

With a successful debut on Friday October 13th, 2006 at the Emergenza international battle of the bands, E.B.S. effectively made it to the semi-finals. They cut their way into the scene without hesitation, and with the popular-and soon after well known-E.B.S. trademark slogan of "Destroying the World. One Stage at a Time."

Since then, they have performed well over one hundred shows including several out of state in Tennessee and Alabama, festival appearances, various battle of the bands, and benefit/tribute shows. With adequate stage experience under their belts E.B.S. reset their focus to record their first EP. Aptly titled 'Destroying the World' the EP was completed with recording help at Hitmaker Studios by James Nation and with the mixing and mastering talents of Matt Washburn (Mastodon, Norma Jean) at Ledbelly Studios, Canton, GA.

The band has been together for over 3 years with the introduction of Nathan Smith in the third quarter of 2008 filling in for Jeremy until his return in 2009, and the welcome addition of new drummer Josh Street in the last quarter of 2009.
