In order to make it home you must have left it beforehand. EatNoFish left home in 1999 kicking it off with their debut record GREEDY FOR LIFE (Virgin Rec). It was well acclaimed and with a major deal in their pocket they toured the clubs, festivals, radio and tv stations throughout Europe. Looking back singer Maria states: It went incredibly fast. We hardly had time to reflect and think, due to all the new impressions, happenings and a tight schedule. We missed this resting point as a band pretty soon. A first significant cut came in the fall of 2001. The guitarist Lars left the band after the release of the second album INSANE. Maria: It was the possibility for every one of us, to honestly say, if and how the band was going to exist in the future. The other three remained while everything else changed. Jan came as a new guitarist. Hamburg was chosen as the new home. The band left ist record label and management. We all agreed, that it could not continue the way it was. So we chose to start again. The only other possibility would have been to stop alltogether.

What resembels a complete breakup, was the kick off for MAKE IT HOME.

11 songs that tell about the longings and hopes, the sweat and tears, about the inner conflicts and their resolution. The sound fits a band that found out who they are and what they want. And also on the buisness side, new ways were chosen. The idea of their new label, Artist Station Records, is that all decisions and responsibilities are in the hands of the artist. So EatNoFish are their own man now. Through their label they have good buisness partners at their side that give support in promoting the new record. It is at the same time the first release of the new label and so the band was involved in the set up as well. It wasnt easy says Maria and adds with a smile: but we were worth it. Wer nach Hause zurückkehren will muss sich zuvor erst einmal davon verabschiedet haben.

EatNoFish verliessen 1999 mit Ihrem Debut GREEDY FOR LIFE (Virgin Rec) ihr damals noch elterliches Heim. Der Weg war steil und führte die Band per Majordeal durch Clubs, Festivals und zu Radio- und TV-Stationen in ganz Europa. Sängerin Maria: Es war ein unglaubliches Tempo. Vor lauter Eindrücken, Erlebnissen und Terminen kamen wir kaum zum Nachdenken. Diese Ruhe hat uns als Band irgendwann gefehlt.

Eine erste und einschneidende Verschnaufpause kam im Herbst 2001. Nach Veröffentlichung des zweiten Albums INSANE verlieŸ Gitarrist Lars die Band. Maria: Für jeden von uns war das die Gelegenheit, ehrlich zu sagen, ob und wie es diese Band in Zukunft überhaupt noch geben soll.

Drei blieben alles andere sollte sich ändern: Mit Jan kam ein neuer Gitarrist. Privat wurde Hamburg zum neuen Zuhause. Die Band verlieŸ Label und Management. Wir waren uns einig, dass es nicht so weitergehen konnte wie bisher also fingen wir von vorne an. Die einzige Alternative wäre gewesen, daŸ wir uns auflösen.

Was wie eine komplette Demontage der Gruppe anmutete, war der Startschuss zu MAKE IT HOME.

11 Songs zeugen von Verlangen und Erfüllung, Schweiss und Tränen, von ZerreiŸen und œberzeugung. Der Sound steht einer Band, die gelernt hat, wer sie ist.

Und auch in Businessangelegenheiten gehen die Fische völlig neue Wege. Bei unserem Label Artist Station Records veröffentlicht man sich als Künstler selbst und trifft alle Entscheidungen in Eigenverantwortung. Wir sind jetzt sozusagen unser eigener Plattenboss und bekommen über das Label hervorragende Businesspartner Partner, die uns bei der Promotion unterstützen.

Das Album der Fische ist die erste Veröffentlichung auf Artist Station Records und so war die Band auch hier maŸgeblich am Aufbau mitbeteiligt. Leicht war das alles nicht. sagt Maria und fügt mit einem Lächeln dazu: .aber wir waren es wert. Dieses Album ist für uns. Es ist jetzt unsere Heimat.
