Dynamic Ribbon Device / DRD are B.A.Taylor ( Guit/Voc ), Peter Bowers ( Keys/Voc ), Russell Duncan ( Bass/Voc ), Dahl Murphy ( Drums ) and Michael Warren ( Guitar Deluxe ).
Core members Taylor, Bowers and Duncan have been playing music on and off together for the last 20 years most notably in a band called Rin Tin Tin featuring
the big Brass sounds of Greg Smith and Dave Pace from the Painters and Dockers. Murphy joined Rin Tin Tin near the end and then went on to play with many up and coming bands such as Weddings, Parties Anything.
Warren a gifted guitar player has played in countless original and cover bands over the years but most notably with his own instrumental band Vimana.
While everyone went off and did their own thing for a while recently Taylor, Bowers and Duncan got back together and decided to write and record some new material, it turned out so well that a new band with the unlikely name of 'Dynamic Ribbon Device' would be formed.
(The name is borrowed from a very famous soft drink)
Along with Warren and Murphy and a cast to large to mention they recorded their Debut CD album 'The Elysian Fields' featuring 14 tracks.
With Taylor, Bowers and Duncan all writing, the final product is an interesting mix of Powerpop (2012,Diamonds), Progressive rock (the Epic of Gilgermesh), Country ( Rainbow Girls, World) and Carnival music (King Reggie) all topped off with a little bit of Beatle garnish. "Overall the guys wear their hearts on their sleeves and you can really hear the 70's influences such as 10cc, Mott the Hoople, XTC, Roxy Music…etc but some how they mix it all up and make a new but refreshingly familiar sound ". (Rolling Stone)

' The Elysian Fields' was snapped up by U.S. Powerpop giants ' Not Lame' and is available thru their web site www.notlame.com and here in Australia thru www.purepop.com.au According to Not Lame DRD's CD is getting good coverage on US college and underground radio and they have had many enquires from European countries.
The band launched 'the Elysian Fields' at the National Hotel to the delight of their Loyal fans. " It is one thing to listen to these songs on CD but to hear them live with a rockier edge was truely inspiring".
