As I wiped the blood from my eyes, many thoughts ran through my mind.

Am I alive?



Can I move?



I looked to the left and saw my dear friend struggling for his last breath.

I tried to reach out and help but God had already called him. Panicked, i attempted to unlock my door with my left arm; But it didnt help because most of the bones were shattered. I Tried freeing my legs but i was pinned waist down, under the dash board.



The shock consumed me and I blacked out. Awoken by the jaws of life ripping off the roof of the vehicle, i was extracted screaming in pain and rushed by EMT to Atlantic City Medical Center's Emergency Unit.



All in All, i had broken 13 bones. 9 in my pelvis & hips and the rest in my left arm and wrist. The doctors diagnosis was that I'd be a paraplegic; unable to walk, my left arm would not function correctly, and that I would not be able to ever have children. I lay depressed in the hospital, feeling guilty that I was the only one that survived. Weeks turned to months as I went through 5 different surgeries just to begin my healing process. Screws, bolts, nuts, and titanium plates were fused with bone as the doctors tried to save what motor functions I had left.



The physical rehabilitation was humbiling and strenuous. The mental and physical toll that the process took on me was a life changing experience. I was confined to a wheel chair while my bones healed. The doctors predicted that I would always use a wheel chair, but I promised myself it was temporary. For months I worked my body to exhaustion just to stand up with out assitance. When I finally did take my 1st step, I realized how small the step was but how the long journey to get there forever molded me.

Five years after her near death- life altering encounter. Dyme Dee aka Diana Montana has come to symbolize strength & grace of today's empowered woman.



On March 14, 1985 the miracle of birth happened for two Cuban immigrants as they welcomed their first daughter to the world. Already having two older brothers & growing up in West New York, NJ, Diana was exposed to many styles of music from Hip Hop,Reggae & R&B to Salsa, Merengue, & Rumba. Coming from a musical background with grandparents who played instruments in Cuba, it was a natural progression in Diana's life to actively participate in the making of music.



As a child, she became heavily emerged in the Hip Hop culture. At the age of 9, she began composing full length songs and poems to express her musical talent. Around the age of 15 it became apparent that Diana would look to further her involvement in the rap game. After enduring the pain and hurt of losing a friend & facing a near death experience, Diana persevered. Her traumatic experience helped strengthen her outlook on life and made her more driven and determined to make something of her rap talent.



Being Latina, she possessed the skill of rapping in both, Spanish & English. She would routinely join the lunchroom & after school cyphers, even if she was the only female present. Day & Night, she would find herself scribbling in a notepad verses & concepts for songs. Her constant dedication and wanting to succeed in what she knew she was talented in, helped polish the skill she possesses today. Her writting skills and slick tongue swagger continue to impress many.



Becoming Apart of The 'Mudslingaz'



Dyme Dee then linked up with a very talented producer she knew from around the way named P-Thought. She introduced to him the many lyrics and ideas she had compiled through her years of building and he concluded she would be the perfect candidate to complete the group the "Mudslingaz". Working alongside P-Thought and another talented member in the group, L.O.N.E Starr, Dyme Dee continues to push the boundaries of what a female emcee can be while also retaining credibility through the hard work and quality of product she puts forth.



The Mudslingaz have been on numerous mixtapes, DVD's, & performed in multiple venues.They gain their respect by building from the ground up & earning a solid core of fans that remain loyal. With their bilingual ability & production courtesy of P-Thought, the Mudslingaz remain a multifaceted & multidimensional group. Mudslingaz bring their unique & versatile style to the table everytime. Its the love of the music and fans that is the main force and drive behind this trio.



This is just the beginning of the story.
